Richard:  Let me guess, a farmer milkmaid.
Marie (Marietta): As a matter of fact, I am!
Richard:  Look at those hands...wouldn't make a cow halfway comfortable.

From Christine:

Here's an example of some of the dialogue that I always appreciated--with one meaning for the innocent and another for those who sometimes appreciate double entendres, which were sprinkled around, obviously as ploys to get round the censors.

When Richard and Marietta are walking down the street, after he discovers her at the puppet theatre.....

Marietta--- "I thought you were a soldier, Haven't you anything better to do than follow me around town?"
Richard---"Not today. Tomorrow i might go out to argue with your admirers--you remember the  pretty lads, who wanted to do a Maypole dance with you, and we interrupted?"

And in the puppet theatre dressing room.

Marietta--"Well! this is unbelievable!"
Richard--"Here, touch me--it's true!"

Richard shoves Marietta a little too roughly into a chair which tips over.

Richard --"oh, blue eyes, here, now you shove me"
